Velamma Malayalam Comics Pdf Free Download Velamma (വെളിമ) is a Malayalam language comic books publisher. It publishes popular Indian comics in Malayalam. Velamma originated in 1994 and became popular with the publication of the titular character's story. Founder Sripuram Balan needed to find an artist for his work when he couldn't find one, his wife Sarasija Balan created 3-4 sketches one day when she was bored and showed them to him. As he liked them, he gave her a storyboard for her to illustrate. She drew it on an ordinary notebook and then took it to the local newspaper owner. The newspaper print manager liked the rough sketch and recommended her to send him a final draft of the story, which she did. She was then asked to do her drawings in traditional Malayalam style. All of them were taken by her husband's friend, who did an advertisement for her for his local daily. The idea behind the name "Velamma" is that people who have loved their parents but can no longer be of service to them are called Velamma ("വെളിമ"). A Malayalam word meaning "mother". The character Velamma (വെളിമ) is a mother who comes from a traditional background. She is a typical housewife and mother in Kerala. Velamma has four children; her husband Bhaskaran (Bhashan), son Viji, daughter Muthu and second daughter Anu (daughter). Velamma's third child died when she was pregnant. Her family includes her in-laws, her father-in law Kuttan Perika and grandmother Saraswathy Amma. Her husband Bhaskaran works in the Gulf and the income is used to keep the family running smoothly. In the middle of her story, Bhaskaran leaves Velamma and moves to a foreign land for a job. This causes a rift in the family and she sets out with her two daughters to find him. In "Velayam", which is about Velamma in search of her husband after he moves in with his new girlfriend Keerthy in a foreign country, she searches for him with help from an old friend who eventually helps her to locate him in India. In "Kattakam", Velamma's daughter Viji dies in an accident. She later meets Avinash, a researcher from Kerala University. She decides to marry him, but faces objections from her family. Velamma is the subject of many movies and has also inspired other comics like "Dance Velamma". It also inspired a serial, named "Vellaikaran Matha" telecasted in Kairali TV. Balan says that he drew inspiration for Velamma stories from his mother.
