My situation is I bought a new Toshiba Satellite C850- F0155 with no OS. Installed Ubuntu 12.04 from a CD. But only way to connect to net is through ethernet cable (i.e. no wireless option). The wireless card is a Realtek RTL8188CE. My Kernal is 3.2.0-52-generic.
The driver you're looking for is no longer maintained by RealTek, so I've put it up on GitHub where I maintain it from version to version so that it compiles and works. I had a hard time installing the wireless driver for my debian. My debian was Sqeeze but soon after I realized Wheezy was the one to support my wireless adapter, realtek 8188CE,I upgraded to wheezy. Here is my sources.list file:
Never for any reason should be mixed repositories from Debian stable with testing branch. However you can add in your repositories backport repository and then you can get a newer kernel to work with RTL8188CE Realtek driver

Fix 2. Roll back the driver. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager to open Device Manager. Expand Network adapters. Right-click Realtek WiFi adapter and select Properties. Click Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver button.
Fix 3. Uninstall and reinstall the driver. Follow the same operation above to right-click the Realtek WiFi adapter and select Uninstall device. After uninstalling the driver, you can restart your computer and it will automatically reinstall the driver. You can also go to Realtek website to find and download Realtek RTL8188EE driver manually.
Fix 4. Update Windows 10 to install the most recent version of all drivers. Make sure your Windows 10 OS is up-to-date. You can click Start -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update, and click Check for updates button to automatically download and install the latest updates on your Windows 10 computer.

Raspberry Pi has a different architecture (ARM, not x86 or x86_64). The easiest way is to use Kali Linux ARM Image, which has the driver built-in. Otherwise, you may have to follow compile instructions for Raspberry Pi and manually compile the driver from source.
Hi, I installed the drivers on Ubuntu/Debian based distros but the USB wifi adapter does not automatically connect to Wifi on reboot. I also have to reconnect to my network but it saves as a new connection each time. Any suggestions?
